The Boston Red Sox are known for the 86 year drought they had between World Series titles. Some fail to look at their success from 1903 (the first year of the World Series) and 1918, where they won 5 WS titles. The Red Sox won the World Series in 1903, 1912, 1915, 1916, 1918, 2004 and 2007. They lost the classic in 1946, 1967, 1975 and 1986. Their World Series record is 7-4. They won the AL Pennant in 1904, but there was no World Series that season.
The Detroit Tigers have had less success but have also had some success. They won the World Series in 1935, 1945, 1968 and 1984. They won the AL Pennant in 1907, 1908, 1909, 1934, 1940, 2006 and 2012. Their World Series record is 4-7.
The Cardinals are the National League Yankees. They have won 11 World Series. The Cardinals first won it all in 1926, then in 1931, 1934, 1942, 1944, 1946, 1964, 1967, 1982, 2006 and 2011. They added National League Pennants in 1928, 1930, 1943, 1968, 1985, 1987 and 2004. Their World Series record is 11-7.
Finally the Dodgers, who started in Brooklyn where they won one World Series and 6 NL Pennants. They had more success since moving to LA.
