Justin Verlander has arguably had one of the best pitching seasons since 1968, the year of the pitcher. He let the AL in wins, ERA, strikeouts, IP, WHIP and winning PCT. Doug Fister has been a nice surprise since coming over from the Mariners and Jose Valverde has been perfect as the teams closer. Even with Valverde, I don't trust the Tigers' bullpen and Rick Porcello is extremely hitable as the number four starter. I personally think Detroit would be better off if they used Verlander on 3 days rest and stuck to three starters in the seven game series.
Overall I can see the Tigers win the World Series this year. They have to find a way to get by Texas first. The Tigers were last in the World Series in 2006 and won in 1984 and 1968. If they won it would be fitting because I think this team has the AL Cy Young winner in Verlander (probably unanimous) and the AL MVP in Cabrera.
