The Brewers have been a very high powered offensive team for the better part of the last four years. Led by Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun, offensively they have been able to compete with anybody. Their problem has always been a lack of pitching, both starting and relief. General manager Doug Melvin addressed that need when he trading for Royals RHP Zach Grienke and Blue Jays RHP Shawn Marcum to go along with Yovani Gallardo in their starting rotation. They also added FA relievers Latroy Hawkins and Takashi Saito to solidify their bullpen. Of course their bullpen was further improved by the addition of Mets RHP Francisco Rodriguez at the all star break this year.
Their combination of pitching and offense has to make them the most complete team on paper still around this postseason. Of course, St. Louis currently leads their best of seven series 2-1; thats why they play the games. Overall a good looking team to root for except for Nyjer Morgan. @therealTPlush is a cancer to his team and the league. The team seems to feed off his showboating and bush league play so up to now its been working out.
